🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 11/11/18 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 11/11/18

The poor widow offered more than all the others.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 12,38,44 - 38Jesus said in his teaching to a great multitude: "Take heed to the teachers of the law! They like to walk in bright clothes, to be greeted in the public squares; They like the first seats in the synagogues and the best places at banquets. 40They devour the houses of widows, pretending to make long prayers. Therefore they will receive the worst condemnation. " 41Jesus sat in the temple in front of the vault, and watched as the crowd deposited their coins in the vault. Many rich people deposited large sums. 42 Then came a poor widow who gave two small coins, which were worth almost nothing. 43 Jesus called the disciples and said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all the others who offered alms. 44All they gave of what they had to spare, while she, in her poverty, offered up all that she had to live. " - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
Jesus in the temple criticizes the scribes, the masters of the Law, who by display and self-promotion, always covet the first places that give them visibility. Before the treasure of the temple - a neuralgic point where exploitation was practiced - Jesus observes the behavior of the rich and the poor in their donations. He is not an alien living in the world of the moon, he is well aware of what happens around him. The poor widow's insignificant offer caught the attention of the Master, who presented her as a symbol of generosity: she gave away everything she had to live. According to Jesus, the "little of the poor is worth more than much of the rich." Giving "alms" to the superfluous does not have the value of the "generosity" of the poor, who gives himself. Was not Jesus also making a certain critique of the exploitation of the poor that happens even on the path of faith? In the name of religion and faith, many poor people may be being sucked out of their few economies. This can happen even in the Christian community, as in all of society, when politicians and rulers, with their maneuvers, while being "generous" with the rich, end up burdening the poor and the working people.
