🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 08/11/18 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 11/08/18

Parábola da Ovelha e da Moeda.
Parable of the Sheep and the Coin.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke - At that time, publicans and sinners were coming to hear Jesus. 2The Pharisees, however, and the teachers of the law criticized Jesus, "This man welcomes sinners and makes a meal with them." 3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 "If one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one, does he not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? 5When he finds it, he puts it on his shoulders with joy, 6and when he comes home, he gathers his friends and neighbors and says, 'Rejoice with me! I have found my sheep that was lost! '7I tell you, so there will be more joy in heaven for one sinner who is converted than for ninety-nine righteous who do not need conversion. 8And if a woman has ten pieces of silver and loses one, she does not light a lamp, sweeps the house and looks carefully until she finds it. When he meets her, he gathers his friends and neighbors and says: 'Rejoice with me! I found the coin I had lost! "10Therefore, I tell you, there will be joy among the angels of God through one sinner who is converted." - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Duas atitudes opostas.

Reflecting the Gospel
Two opposing attitudes. The sinners and the procurators of the administration "approached to hear Jesus". These were despised by the Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who criticized Jesus. The two parables come to reveal and support God's way of acting. The shepherd searches earnestly for the lost sheep. The housewife carefully searches every room, eager to find the missing coin. The rescue of the sheep and the recovery of the currency are reasons for great joy, shared with "friends and neighbors." True fraternization. We also learned from the Master: It is the sick who need doctors, not the healthy ones. Those who consider themselves righteous do not enter the Kingdom of God, because they reject Jesus. Sinners, on the other hand, come to hear Jesus, convert and participate in the feast of the Kingdom.

Sing, sing psalms to him, / publish all his wonders! / Glory in his name that is holy, / exult the heart that seeks God! - R.
Seek the Lord God and his power, / seek his face continually! / Remember the wonders that he did, / his wonders and the words of his lips! - R.
The descendants of Abraham, his servant, and the sons of Jacob, his chosen one, the Lord himself, are our God, and keep his laws in all the earth. - R.
