Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 13,31-35 – 31Naquela hora, alguns fariseus aproximaram-se e disseram a Jesus: “Tu deves ir embora daqui, porque Herodes quer te matar”. 32Jesus disse: “Ide dizer a essa raposa: eu expulso demônios e faço curas hoje e amanhã; e no terceiro dia terminarei o meu trabalho. 33Entretanto, preciso caminhar hoje, amanhã e depois de amanhã, porque não convém que um profeta morra fora de Jerusalém. 34Jerusalém, Jerusalém! Tu que matas os profetas e apedrejas os que te foram enviados! Quantas vezes eu quis reunir teus filhos como a galinha reúne os pintainhos debaixo das asas, mas tu não quiseste! 35Eis que vossa casa ficará abandonada. Eu vos digo, não me vereis mais, até que chegue o tempo em que vós mesmos direis: ‘Bendito aquele que vem em nome do Senhor’”. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 13: 22-30 - At that time, Jesus crossed cities and towns, teaching and continuing the way to Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, "Lord, is it true that there are few who are saved?" Jesus answered: 24 "Make every effort to enter through the narrow gate. For I tell you that many will try to enter and will not succeed. 25Once the master of the house stands up and closes the door, you will begin to beat outside, saying, "Lord, open the door for us!" He will answer, "I do not know where you are from." 26Then shall you begin to say, 'We have eaten and drunk before thee, and thou hast taught in our marketplaces!' 27And he shall say, I know not whence ye are. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, with all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and ye shall be cast out. 29 Men will come from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south, and they will take their place in the kingdom of God. 30And so there are last who shall be first and first who shall be last. " - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho 

Densas e escuras nuvens ameaçam intimidar Jesus em sua missão. A notícia é péssima: “Herodes quer te matar”. Onde cavar força e entusiasmo para seguir fazendo o bem? Um autêntico profeta, porém, não esmorece. Fica abalado, mas não abandona o bom combate. Está decidido a ir até o fim: “Hoje, amanhã e depois de amanhã devo continuar caminhando”. Jesus expressa sentido lamento por Jerusalém, “que mata os profetas”, em cujo número ele se inclui. Faz alusão à destruição do templo: “Eis que sua casa ficará abandonada”. Entretanto, avisa que virá o tempo em que também os inimigos o reconhecerão como o enviado de Deus, glorificado por seu povo: “Bendito aquele que vem em nome do Senhor!”. Por sua morte e sua ressurreição, Jesus realiza a salvação.

Reflecting the Gospel 

Serious warning of Jesus to his countrymen, especially the leaders of the people of Israel. Based on the many precepts they were trying to fulfill, they were convinced that they already possessed the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal happiness. They forgot, however, the essential, that is, the practice of justice and the constant exercise of mercy. By saying "we ate and drank in your presence," they lie; in fact they criticized Jesus who ate with sinners (cf. Lk 15,2). These, yes, accepted Jesus in his life: "There are last who will be first". It is not enough to know who Jesus is or to argue brilliantly about his teachings. It is necessary to accept him as Master and follow him "on the way to Jerusalem". It is for these that the "master of the house" will open the door of salvation.
