🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 26/03/2018 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 03/26/2018

A casa inteira ficou cheia do perfume do bálsamo.
The whole house was filled with the perfume of the balm.

Evangelho -

A casa inteira ficou cheia do perfume do bálsamo.

Gospel - John 12,1-11
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John - 1 Six days before the Passover, Jesus went to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, that he had risen from the dead. 2Ali offered Jesus dinner; Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with him. 3Maria, taking almost half a liter of perfume of pure and very expensive nard, anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped them with his hair. The whole house was filled with the perfume of the balm. 4 Then said Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, who would betray him: 5 "Why was not this perfume sold for three hundred pieces of silver to give it to the poor?" 6 Judas spoke thus not, because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief; he would take care of the common purse and steal what was deposited in it. 7 But Jesus said, "Leave her alone; she did it in view of the day of my burial. 8 You will always have them with you, while you will not always have me. " 9 Many Jews, knowing that Jesus was in Bethany, went there not only because of Jesus but also to see Lazarus, that Jesus had risen from the dead. 10Then the high priests decided to kill Lazarus also, 11because, because of him, many of them left the Jews and believed in Jesus. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
Today we are led to contemplate the giving of the life of the servant of God, anointed for the mission. Through baptism we were also anointed to participate in Christ's prophetic, priestly and royal mission. The prophetic gesture of the woman, perfuming the environment with the aroma of love, can not be ignored or forgotten. Filled with precious information, the episode places us in the context of the Lord's imminent passion. There the different attitudes of its protagonists are mixed: the friendship of the family of Lázaro; Marta's domestic service; the generous delicacy of Mary with so much perfume that flooded the whole house; the stingy stare of Judas who criticizes Mary for exaggeration; the arrival of many curious, perhaps family friends, and finally the macabre decision of the chief priests to "kill Lazarus also." As for Jesus, his death was decreed by the Council. But, Lazarus, what fault did he have? What crimes had he committed to arouse the ire of the authorities? To this day, numerous decisions are made during banquets. Too bad that many of them are in the face of personal interests, often with sacrifice of human lives!

Rezando
Salmo 26/27.

Rezando
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Who am I afraid of? / The Lord is the protection of my life; / before whom shall I tremble? When the wicked advance against me, / desiring to devour me, / they are enemies and oppressors, / who stumble and succumb. If an army arm me against itself, / will not fear my heart; / A battle will break out against me, / yet I will trust. I know that the goodness of the Lord I will see / in the land of the living. / Wait on the Lord and have courage, / wait on the Lord! Psalm 26/27.
