Eu sou o bom pastor.

I am the good shepherd.

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia. Eu sou o bom pastor; conheço minhas ovelhas / e elas me conhecem, assim fala o Senhor (Jo 10,14). Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 10,11-18 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus: 11“Eu sou o bom pastor. O bom pastor dá a vida por suas ovelhas. 12O mercenário, que não é pastor e não é dono das ovelhas, vê o lobo chegar, abandona as ovelhas e foge, e o lobo as ataca e dispersa. 13Pois ele é apenas um mercenário e não se importa com as ovelhas. 14Eu sou o bom pastor. Conheço as minhas ovelhas, e elas me conhecem, 15assim como o Pai me conhece e eu conheço o Pai. Eu dou minha vida pelas ovelhas. 16Tenho ainda outras ovelhas que não são deste redil: também a elas devo conduzir; escutarão a minha voz, e haverá um só rebanho e um só pastor. 17É por isso que o Pai me ama, porque dou a minha vida, para depois recebê-la novamente. 18Ninguém tira a minha vida, eu a dou por mim mesmo; tenho poder de entregá-la e tenho poder de recebê-la novamente; esta é a ordem que recebi do meu Pai”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep / and they know me, so says the Lord (Jn 10:14). Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 10: 11-18 - At that time, Jesus said: 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for his sheep. 12The mercenary, who is not a shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, abandons the sheep and flees, and the wolf attacks and scatters them. 13For he is only a mercenary and does not care for the sheep. 14I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep, and they know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not from this fold: I must lead them too; they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock and one shepherd. This is why the Father loves me, why I give my life, and then receive it again. 18No one takes my life, I give it for myself; I have the power to deliver it and I have the power to receive it again; this is the order I received from my Father ”. - Word of salvation.

Reflexão
Jesus, ao invés, se proclama o bom pastor. Está comprometido com seu rebanho, chama cada ovelha pelo nome, isto é, tem familiaridade com todas e, principalmente, num ato voluntário de obediência ao Pai, dá sua vida por suas ovelhas. O bom pastor não vem somente para uma nação ou pequeno grupo. Sua missão é universal: “Tenho ainda outras ovelhas…”. 

Reflection
Jesus, instead, proclaims himself the good shepherd. He is committed to his flock, he calls each sheep by name, that is, he is familiar with them all and, mainly, in a voluntary act of obedience to the Father, he gives his life for his sheep. The good shepherd is not just for a nation or small group. His mission is universal: "I have other sheep ...".

Rezando 
Jesus, és de fato “o bom pastor”, pois arriscas tua vida pelo povo e o proteges contra os adversários do Reino. Conheces cada membro da imensa multidão que escuta tua voz e te segue. E procuras outras pessoas que ainda não fazem parte de tua família, na certeza de que ouvirão a tua voz. Amém.

Praying 

Jesus, you are indeed "the good shepherd", for you risk your life for the people and protect them against the adversaries of the Kingdom. You know each member of the immense crowd that hears your voice and follows you. And you are looking for other people who are not yet part of your family, in the certainty that they will hear your voice. Amen.
