Vai, a tua fé te curou.
Go, your faith has healed you.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 10: 46-52 - At that time, Jesus left Jericho with his disciples and a large crowd. The son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, blind and beggar, was sitting by the roadside. 47When he heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by, he began to shout, "Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me!" 48 Many rebuked him to keep silent. But he cried even more: "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49Then Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." They called him and said, "Courage, get up, Jesus calls you!" The blind man tossed his cloak, jumped, and went to Jesus. 51Then Jesus said to him, "What do you want me to do to you?" The blind man replied, "Teacher, let me see!" 52 Jesus said, "Go, your faith has healed you." Instantly he recovered his sight and followed Jesus on the way. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
Bartimaeus, blind and beggar, was at the side of the road and, listening to Jesus pass, renews hope and cries out for mercy. He thinks he's got a chance to abandon this life of being marginalized. His cry is heard by the Master, who calls him. With this account, Mark concludes the section of miracles. The beggar is seated at the side of the road, where the seed falls, but it bears no fruit, for it is taken away by the enemy. The enemy (satan) does not let the message penetrate the mind and heart of the person, while the message of Jesus has the power to transform, to remove blindness, to eliminate alienation and to integrate the person again into social life. The gesture of throwing the cloak symbolizes that the blind man (disciple) abandons his lifestyle and assumes the proposal of Jesus. Recovering, he becomes free, walks with his own legs and illuminates with his own eyes the way forward. Become a disciple of Jesus. The cry of the blind can symbolize the oppressed cry, which disturbs those who are in the procession, living their daily lives in peace. Jesus, who heals our blindness. He helps us overcome the darkness of ignorance and error that will not let us hear the cry of those on the sidelines. It is our path to fraternal and caring society.

Salmo 125/126

Psalm 121/122
Wondrous things to do with the Lord, / let us exult in joy! When the Lord brought our captives back, / we seemed to dream; / filled our mouths smile, / our lips, of songs. Among the Gentiles it was said, "Wondrous things / did the Lord with them!" / Yes, wonders has the Lord done to us / let us exult in joy! Change our lot, O Lord, as torrents in the wilderness. / Those who sow the seeds in tears will reap with joy. Weeping with sadness, they will come forth, spreading their seeds. / Singing with joy, they will return, / carrying their bundles!
