Com a mesma medida com que medirdes, vós sereis medidos.

With the same measure with which you measure, you will be measured.

Jesus dizia de si mesmo: “Eu sou a luz do mundo. Quem me segue não andará na escuridão, mas terá a luz da vida” (Jo 8,12). E a seus discípulos dizia: “Vocês são a luz do mundo” (Mt 5,14). E recomendava-lhes: “Brilhe a luz de vocês diante das pessoas, para que elas glorifiquem o Pai de vocês que está nos céus” (Mt 5,16). A luz é a verdade; é a Palavra de Deus. A luz é a própria presença de Deus. Jesus nos pede que demos testemunho da luz. O evangelho precisa ser anunciado e conhecido no mundo todo. Essa é a missão que cristãos e cristãs receberam de Jesus. Cabe a pergunta: Somos luz na vida dos nossos semelhantes? Quanto aos dons que de Deus recebemos, eles podem ser luz na vida das pessoas: poderão transfigurar o mundo, se os fizermos frutificar

Jesus said of himself: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life ”(Jn 8,12). And he said to his disciples, "You are the light of the world" (Mt 5,14). And he recommended to them: "Shine your light before people, so that they may glorify your Father who is in heaven" (Mt 5,16). The light is the truth; it is the Word of God. The light is the very presence of God. Jesus asks us to bear witness to the light. The gospel needs to be announced and known throughout the world. This is the mission that Christians received from Jesus. The question is: Are we light in the lives of our fellow men? As for the gifts that we receive from God, they can be light in people's lives: they can transfigure the world, if we make them bear fruit

Leitura do segundo livro de Samuel 7,18-19.24-29 – Depois que Natã falara a Davi, o rei entrou no tabernáculo, 18foi assentar-se diante do Senhor e disse: “Quem sou eu, Senhor Deus, e o que é a minha família, para que me tenhas conduzido até aqui? 19Mas, como isso te parecia pouco, Senhor Deus, ainda fizeste promessas à casa do teu servo para um futuro distante. Porque esta é a lei do homem, Senhor Deus! 24Estabeleceste o teu povo, Israel, para que ele seja para sempre o teu povo; e tu, Senhor, te tornaste o seu Deus. 25Agora, Senhor Deus, cumpre para sempre a promessa que fizeste ao teu servo e à sua casa e faze como disseste! 26Então o teu nome será exaltado para sempre, e dirão: ‘O Senhor todo-poderoso é o Deus de Israel’. E a casa do teu servo Davi permanecerá estável na tua presença. 27Pois tu, Senhor todo-poderoso, Deus de Israel, fizeste esta revelação ao teu servo: ‘Eu te construirei uma casa’. Por isso o teu servo se animou a dirigir-te esta oração. 28Agora, Senhor Deus, tu és Deus e tuas palavras são verdadeiras. Pois que fizeste esta bela promessa ao teu servo, 29abençoa, então, a casa do teu servo, para que ela permaneça para sempre na tua presença. Porque és tu, Senhor Deus, que falaste, e é graças à tua bênção que a casa do teu servo será abençoada para sempre”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading the second book of Samuel 7,18-19.24-29 - After Nathan had spoken to David, the king entered the tabernacle, 18 he went to sit before the Lord and said: “Who am I, Lord God, and what is the my family, why have you led me here? 19But how little that seemed to you, Lord God, you still made promises to your servant's house for the distant future. Because this is the law of man, Lord God! 24You established your people, Israel, that they may be your people forever; and you, Lord, have become their God. 25Now, Lord God, keep your promise to your servant and his house forever and do as you said! 26Then your name will be exalted forever, and they will say, 'The Lord Almighty is the God of Israel'. And the house of your servant David will remain stable in your presence. 27For you, Lord Almighty, God of Israel, have made this revelation to your servant: 'I will build you a house'. So your servant was encouraged to address this prayer to you. 28Now, Lord God, you are God and your words are true. Because you have made this beautiful promise to your servant, then bless your servant's house, so that it may remain forever in your presence. Salmo 131,132

O Senhor vai dar-lhe o trono / de seu pai, o rei Davi. 
1. Recordai-vos, ó Senhor, do rei Davi / e de quanto vos foi ele dedicado; / do juramento que ao Senhor havia feito / e de seu voto ao Poderoso de Jacó. 
2. “Não entrarei na minha tenda, minha casa, / nem subirei à minha cama em que repouso, / não deixarei adormecerem os meus olhos / nem cochilarem em descanso minhas pálpebras, / até que eu ache um lugar para o Senhor, / uma casa para o Forte de Jacó!” 
3. O Senhor fez a Davi um juramento, / uma promessa que jamais renegará: / “Um herdeiro que é fruto do teu ventre / colocarei sobre o trono em teu lugar! 
4. Se teus filhos conservarem minha aliança / e os preceitos que lhes dei a conhecer, / os filhos deles igualmente hão de sentar-se / eternamente sobre o trono que te dei!” 
5. Pois o Senhor quis para si Jerusalém / e a desejou para que fosse sua morada: / “Eis o lugar do meu repouso para sempre, / eu fico aqui: este é o lugar que preferi!” 

Psalm 131/132
The Lord will give you the throne / of your father, King David. 
1. Remember, O Lord, of King David / and how much he was dedicated to you; / of the oath he had taken to the Lord / and of his vow to the Mighty One of Jacob.
2. “I will not go into my tent, my house, / nor go up to my bed on which to rest, / I will not let my eyes fall asleep / or my eyelids at rest, / until I find a place for the Lord, / a house for the Fort of Jacob!”
3. The Lord made David an oath, / a promise he will never deny: /“ An heir who is fruit from your womb / I will place it on your throne! 
4. If your children keep my covenant / and the precepts that I have made known to them, / their children will also sit / forever on the throne that I have given you!”
5. For the Lord wanted Jerusalem for himself / and he wished it to be his home: / "This is my resting place forever, / I stay here: this is the place I preferred!"

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos 4,21-25 – Naquele tempo, Jesus disse à multidão: 21“Quem é que traz uma lâmpada para colocá-la debaixo de um caixote ou debaixo da cama? Ao contrário, não a coloca num candeeiro? 22Assim, tudo o que está escondido deverá tornar-se manifesto, e tudo o que está em segredo deverá ser descoberto. 23Se alguém tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça”. 24Jesus dizia ainda: “Prestai atenção no que ouvis: com a mesma medida com que medirdes, também vós sereis medidos; e vos será dado ainda mais. 25Ao que tem alguma coisa, será dado ainda mais; do que não tem, será tirado até mesmo o que ele tem”. – Palavra da salvação.
