“Cinco pães e dois peixes”.
"Five loaves and two fish".

The Master "began to teach them many things." He speaks of the heavenly Father, the value of life, of brotherly love. It offers them, first of all, nutrition for the spiritual dimension; then, to address physical needs, shows them the path of sharing. It's not about buying food, it's about sharing what they have. Through the collaboration of all, the organization and the common placement of what each one possesses, Jesus sates the crowd, and still left food.

Leitura da primeira carta de são João 1 João 4,7-10 – 7Caríssimos, amemo-nos uns aos outros, porque o amor vem de Deus e todo aquele que ama nasceu de Deus e conhece Deus. 8Quem não ama não chegou a conhecer Deus, pois Deus é amor. 9Foi assim que o amor de Deus se manifestou entre nós: Deus enviou o seu Filho único ao mundo, para que tenhamos vida por meio dele. 10Nisto consiste o amor: não fomos nós que amamos a Deus, mas foi ele que nos amou e enviou o seu Filho como vítima de reparação pelos nossos pecados. – Palavra do Senhor.

Reading the first letter of St. John 1 John 4,7-10 – 7Dear, it embes us to one another, because love comes from God and everyone who loves was born of God and knows God. 8Who does not love did not come to know God, for God is love. 9 This is how God's love manifested itself among us: God sent his only Son into the world, that we may have life through him. 10 In this consists love: it was not we who love God, but it was he who loved us and sent his Son as a victim of reparation for our sins. Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Marcos 6,34-44 – Naquele tempo, 34Jesus viu uma numerosa multidão e teve compaixão, porque eram como ovelhas sem pastor. Começou, pois, a ensinar-lhes muitas coisas. 35Quando estava ficando tarde, os discípulos chegaram perto de Jesus e disseram: “Este lugar é deserto e já é tarde. 36Despede o povo, para que possa ir aos campos e povoados vizinhos comprar alguma coisa para comer”. 37Mas Jesus respondeu: “Dai-lhes vós mesmos de comer”. Os discípulos perguntaram: “Queres que gastemos duzentos denários para comprar pão e dar-lhes de comer?” 38Jesus perguntou: “Quantos pães tendes? Ide ver”. Eles foram e responderam: “Cinco pães e dois peixes”. 39Então Jesus mandou que todos se sentassem na grama verde, formando grupos. 40E todos se sentaram, formando grupos de cem e de cinquenta pessoas. 41Depois Jesus pegou os cinco pães e os dois peixes, ergueu os olhos para o céu, pronunciou a bênção, partiu os pães e ia dando aos discípulos, para que os distribuíssem. Dividiu entre todos também os dois peixes. 42Todos comeram, ficaram satisfeitos 43e recolheram doze cestos cheios de pedaços de pão e também dos peixes. 44O número dos que comeram os pães era de cinco mil homens. – Palavra da salvação.

Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 6,34-44 – At that time, 34Jesus saw a large multitude and had compassion, because they were like sheep without shepherd. He began, therefore, to teach them many things. 35 When it was getting late, the disciples came close to Jesus and said, "This place is deserted and it is too late. 36 Fire the people, so that he can go to the neighboring fields and villages to buy something to eat." 37 But Jesus replied, "Give yourselves to eat." The disciples asked, "Do you want us to spend 200 denaries to buy bread and feed them?" 38Jesus asked, "How many loaves of bread? Go see." They went and answered, "Five loaves and two fish." 39 And Jesus commanded everyone to sit on the green grass, forming groups. 40And all sat down, forming groups of one hundred and fifty people. 41 After Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish, raised his eyes to heaven, uttered the blessing, broke the loaves, and went to give to his disciples, that they may distribute them. He divided between all of them also the two fish. 42Everyone ate, were satisfied 43 and collected twelve baskets full of pieces of bread and also from the fish. 44 The number of those who ate the loaves was 5,000 men. - Word of salvation.
