Todos comeram e ficaram satisfeitos.
Everyone ate and were satisfied.

1a.Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading the first letter of St. John 4,7-10 - 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love comes from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love has not come to know God, for God is love. 9 This is how the love of God was manifested among us: God sent his only Son into the world, so that we may have life through him. 10 This is what love is about: it is not we who love God, but it is he who loved us and sent his Son as the victim of reparation for our sins. - Word of the Lord.

Salmo 71/72

Psalm 71/72
The kings of the whole earth will worship you, O Lord!
1. Give the king your powers, Lord God, / your justice to the descendant of royalty! / With justice he will rule your people, / with fairness he will judge your poor.
2. From the mountains come peace to all the people, / and let justice descend from the hills! / This king will defend those who are poor, / the children of the humble will save.
3. In your day, justice will flourish / and great peace, until the moon loses its shine! / From sea to sea he will extend his dominion, / and from the river to the ends of the earth!

Evangelho
Começou, pois, a ensinar-lhes muitas coisas.

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 6,34-44 - At that time, 34Jesus saw a large crowd and had compassion, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he started teaching them many things. 35When it was getting late, the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This place is deserted and it is late. 36Send the people away so they can go to the neighboring fields and villages to buy something to eat ”. 37But Jesus replied, "Give them something to eat." The disciples asked, "Do you want us to spend two hundred denarii to buy bread and feed them?" 38Jesus asked, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see ”. They went and replied: "Five loaves and two fish". 39Then Jesus ordered everyone to sit on the green grass, forming groups. 40And they all sat down, forming groups of one hundred and fifty people. 41Then Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish, looked up at the sky, pronounced the blessing, broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to distribute. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42All ate, were satisfied, 43 and collected twelve baskets full of bread and fish. 44 The number of those who ate the loaves was five thousand men. - Word of salvation.

To think about
Jesus sympathizes with seeing that crowd as a flock without a shepherd. The disciples propose to dismiss her, but the Master has other plans: to feed her before sending her away. Among the teachings of the Master, surely the solidarity and sharing that he provoked among the disciples should serve as an example. Jesus cannot remain indifferent to the people's hunger and suffering. The multiplication of bread and fish comes to question, even today, the multitude of hungry people that we still see today. Food is the first necessity of every human being. Faced with so many advances achieved, little progress has been made in providing minimum living conditions for a portion of the population.

Todos comeram à vontade e ainda sobrou comida. Ensina-nos, ó bom Pastor, a partilhar nossos bens materiais e espirituais. Amém.

To Pray
Jesus, seeing an immense crowd “like sheep without a shepherd”, Your sensitivity impelled them to promote a great sharing of food. Everyone ate at will and there was still food left. Teach us, O good Shepherd, to share our material and spiritual goods. Amen.
