🇧🇷Reflexão 28/08/2019 🇺🇸Reflection

Essa cara de anjo não me engana!
That Angel face doesn't fool me!.

Incoherence of the Doctors of the law and Pharisees: they are not what they show outwardly. Jesus illustrates it first, the figure of the beautiful sepulcher on the outside and full of rot inside. The second figure refers to the tombs that the religious leaders built for the prophets. They paid homage to them as to the blessed people, however they had eliminated them themselves. In colloquial language, Jesus would have told the doctors of the Law and Pharisees: that Angel face doesn't fool me! Indeed, they are organizing themselves to kill the greatest of the Prophets, the Messiah, and following his disciples.

1a. Leitura
– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading from St Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians 2.9-13 – 9Brethren, you are certainly still reminded of our work and fatigues. We work day and night to not be heavy to any of you. This is how we proclaim the Gospel of God. 10You are witnesses, and God too, of how holy, righteous, irreproachable it was for us to proceed with you, the faithful. 11Well know that as a father to his children, 12 we urge each one of you and encourage and insist that you be worthy of God, who calls you to his kingdom and to his glory. 13Therefore We thank God without ceasing for you to have received the preaching of the word of God not as a human word, but as that which, in fact, is: the Word of God, which is producing effect on you who have embraced the faith. – Word of the Lord.

Salmo 138/139
Senhor, vós me sondais e me conheceis!

Salmo 138/139
Lord, you dream me and know me! -In what place shall I hide from your spirit? /And where will I flee from your face? /If I ascend to the heavens, there ye are; /If I descend into the abyss, you are present. – If the Aurora lend me their wings,/For me to fly and dwell at the end of the seas,/even there will guide me your hand/and hold me firmly to your right-handed. – If I thought: "The darkness Come to hide me/and may the light around me make night!"/Even the darkness for you are not dark,/the night itself shines as the day.

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.

Gospel
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. The love of God is fulfilled in all that/who holds his word faithfully (1 John 2.5). – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 23,27-32 – At that time Jesus said: 27 "Woe unto you, masters of the law and Pharisees hypocrites! You are like whitewashed graves: on the outside they look beautiful, but inside are filled with bones of the dead and all rot! 28So also you, on the outside, seem righteous before others, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and injustice. 29Woe to you, masters of the law and Pharisees hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and adore the tombs of the righteous, 30 and say: ' If we had lived in the time of our fathers, we would not have been complicit in the death of the prophets. ' 31With This, you confess that you are children of those who killed the prophets. 32Complete, therefore, the measure of your fathers! "– Word of salvation.
