🇧🇷Reflexão 03/08/2019 🇺🇸Reflection

Herodes mandou cortar a cabeça de João no cárcere.
Herod had John's head cut off in prison.

John the Baptist was decapitated by order of King Herod, who could not erase from memory the gigantic figure of the forerunner of the Messiah. So much so that when he was informed about the fame of Jesus, Herod soon thought it was John who had risen from the dead. In showing Herod's concern for the signs operated by Jesus, the Evangelist introduces the narrative about the death of John the Baptist. It is slit in prison, by the determination of Herod, in the context of a feast to celebrate life and an absurd promise made to the daughter of Herodyads. Mother and daughter, possessed by evil instinct, ask for the death of John. Herod's irresponsibility, folly, and cruelty competed to roll the Prophet's head. To the Martyr of Christ, eternal glory!

1a. Leitura
9Então farás soar a trombeta no décimo dia do sétimo mês. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus”. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading the Book of Leviticus 25, 1.8-17 – 1St Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying: 8 "You shall count seven weeks of years, seven times seven years, which will give 49 years. 9Then you will sound the trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month. On the day of the atonement, you will sound the trumpet all over the country. 10You shall Declare the Holy One fiftieth year and proclaim the liberation to all the inhabitants of the country: it will be a jubilee for you. Each of you may return to your property and return to your family. 11TH fiftieth year will be for you a year of Jubilee: Thou shalt not sow, nor reap what the earth produce spontaneously, nor reap the grapes of the vine not pruned; 12for It is a year of jubilee, sacred to you, but you may eat what has produced the uncultivated fields. 13 in This Jubilee year, each of you may return to your property. 14If you sell to your countryman or buy something, no one Will exploit your brother; 15 According to the number of years elapsed after the Jubilee, your countryman will fix the purchase price for you and, according to the years of harvest, it will fix the selling price. 16 The greater the number of years that remain after the Jubilee, the greater the price of the land; The smaller the number of years, the lower your price will be, because it sells you according to the number of crops. 17Do Not be harmed to one another among brothers, but fear your God. I am the Lord, your God. " – Word of the Lord.

Salmo 66/67

Psalm 66/67
That the nations glorify you, O Lord, that all nations glorify you. – God give us His grace and his blessing,/and his face shine upon us! /That on Earth one knows its path/and its salvation among the peoples. – Rejoice in the whole Earth, for you judge the universe with righteousness; /The ruling peoples with righteousness/and Guiais, in all the land, the nations. – The earth has produced its harvest:/The Lord and our God blesses us. /That the Lord and our God bless us,/and respect the ends of all the earth!

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.

Gospel
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Happy those who are persecuted because of the righteousness of the Lord,/because the Kingdom of heaven shall be theirs! (Mt 5.10) – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 14,1-12 – 1 at That time, the fame of Jesus came to the ears of Governor Herod. 2He said to his servants: "It is John the Baptist, who rose from the dead; and therefore the miraculous Powers act in him. " 3Indeed, Herod had commanded John to arrest him and put him in prison because of Herodyads, the wife of his brother Philip. 4For John had said to Herod, "you are not allowed to have her as a wife." 5Herod wanted to kill John, but was afraid of the people, who regarded him as a prophet. 6On the occasion of Herod's birthday, the daughter of Heroides danced before all and pleased Herod so much, 7that he promised, with oath, to give her whatever he asked. 8Instigated by her mother, she said: "Give me here, on a plate, the head of John the Baptist." 9Th The King was sad, but, because of the oath before the guests, he commanded them to heed her request. 10And He had John's head cut in the brig. 11 Then The head was brought on a plate, handed to the girl, and she took her to her mother. 12The Disciples of John went to fetch the body and buried it. Then they went to tell Jesus everything. – Word of salvation.
