De graça recebestes, de graça deveis dar!

For free you have received, for free you must give!

Jesus ao orientar seus apóstolos, os convida a partirem despojados e livres: sem dinheiro, sem sacola e só com a roupa indispensável. O objetivo é passar por toda parte anunciando que o Reino de Deus está próximo, isto é, já está presente. Procurem hospedar-se em casa de pessoas confiáveis. Sejam portadores da paz. Libertem as pessoas de tudo o que as oprime (demônios), ressuscitem os mortos e curem os enfermos. Jesus lhes dá a entender que encontrarão resistência, pois nem todos estão abertos ao projeto de Deus. Não devem, por cobiça, aproveitar-se do poder recebido, ao contrário, façam tudo gratuitamente, pois tudo é dom de Deus.

Jesus in guiding his apostles invites them to depart stripped and free: without money, without a bag and with only indispensable clothing. The goal is to go all the time announcing that the kingdom of God is near, that is, already present. Try to stay at home of trusted people. Be bearers of peace. Free people from everything that oppresses them (demons), resurrece the dead, and care for the sick. Jesus gives them the understanding that they will find resistance, because not all are open to the project of God. They must not, by greed, take advantage of the power received, on the contrary, do everything for free, for everything is God's gift.

Leitura do livro do Gênesis 44,18-21.23-29; 45,1-5 – Naqueles dias, 18Judá aproximou-se de José e, cheio de ânimo, disse: “Perdão, meu senhor, permite ao teu servo falar com toda franqueza, sem que se acenda a tua cólera contra mim. Afinal, tu és como um faraó! 19Foi meu senhor quem perguntou a seus servos: ‘Ainda tendes pai ou algum outro irmão?’ 20E nós respondemos ao meu senhor: ‘Temos um pai já velho e um menino nascido em sua velhice, cujo irmão morreu; é o único filho de sua mãe que resta, e seu pai o ama com muita ternura’. 21E tu disseste a teus servos: ‘Trazei-o a mim, para que eu possa vê-lo. 23Se não vier convosco o vosso irmão mais novo, não vereis mais a minha face’. 24Quando, pois, voltamos para junto de teu servo, nosso pai, contamos tudo o que o meu senhor tinha dito. 25Mais tarde, disse-nos nosso pai: ‘Voltai e comprai para nós algum trigo’. 26E nós lhe respondemos: ‘Não podemos ir, a não ser que o nosso irmão mais novo vá conosco. De outra maneira, sem ele, não nos podemos apresentar àquele homem’. 27E o teu servo, nosso pai, respondeu: ‘Bem sabeis que minha mulher me deu apenas dois filhos. 28Um deles saiu de casa e eu disse: Um animal feroz o devorou! E até agora não apareceu. 29Se me levardes também este e lhe acontecer alguma desgraça no caminho, fareis descer de desgosto meus cabelos brancos à morada dos mortos’”. 45,1Então José não pôde mais conter-se diante de todos os que o rodeavam e gritou: “Mandai sair toda a gente!” E, assim, não ficou mais ninguém com ele quando se deu a conhecer aos irmãos. 2José rompeu num choro tão forte, que os egípcios ouviram e toda a casa do faraó. 3E José disse a seus irmãos: “Eu sou José! Meu pai ainda vive?” Mas os irmãos não podiam responder-lhe nada, pois foram tomados de um enorme terror. 4Ele, porém, cheio de clemência, lhes disse: “Aproximai-vos de mim”. Tendo-se eles aproximado, disse: “Eu sou José, vosso irmão, a quem vendestes para o Egito. 5Entretanto, não vos aflijais nem vos atormenteis por me terdes vendido a este país. Porque foi para a vossa salvação que Deus me mandou adiante de vós, para o Egito”. – Palavra do Senhor.

Lembrai as maravilhas do Senhor! 
– Mandou vir, então, a fome sobre a terra / e os privou de todo pão que os sustentava; / um homem enviara à sua frente, / José, que foi vendido como escravo. 
– Apertaram os seus pés entre grilhões / e amarraram seu pescoço com correntes, / até que se cumprisse o que previra, / e a palavra do Senhor lhe deu razão.

Hospedai-vos com ele até a vossa partida. 12Ao entrardes numa casa, saudai-a. 13Se a casa for digna, desça sobre ela a vossa paz; se ela não for digna, volte para vós a vossa paz. 14Se alguém não vos receber nem escutar vossa palavra, saí daquela casa ou daquela cidade e sacudi a poeira dos vossos pés. 15Em verdade vos digo, as cidades de Sodoma e Gomorra serão tratadas com menos dureza do que aquela cidade no dia do juízo”. – Palavra da salvação.
