🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 02/07/2018 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 07/02/2018

Foxes have their dens, and the birds of the air have their nests.

Evangelho -
Mateus 8,18-22

Gospel - Matthew 8,18-22
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Matthew - At that time, when a crowd was gathered around him, Jesus commanded to pass to the other side of the lake. 19And a teacher of the law came and said, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go." 20Jesus answered him, "Foxes have their dens, and the birds of the air have their nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head. " 21And another of the disciples said to Jesus, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." 22But Jesus answered him, "Follow me and let the dead bury their dead." - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
The doctors of the Law were part of the religious and political elite. Now, Jesus is an itinerant preacher and lives in absolute poverty: "the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." Was the doctor of the law prepared for such a radical change? Jesus leads you to reflect better on your choice. Another man, at the beginning of his follow-up to Jesus, asks him some time to go home and bury his father. Although to bury the dead was a sacred duty, Jesus supposes that the family will take care of this work of mercy. But to the disciple Jesus demands decision without hesitation. For whoever is willing to follow Christ must be willing to lead a new life, to give himself completely to the service of the Kingdom of God. The true disciple of Jesus is the one who lets himself be led by the Holy Spirit.

Rezando

Rezando
"How dare you repeat my precepts / and bring my covenant in your mouth? / You who hated my laws and my counsels / and turned my back on the words of my lips! When you saw a thief, you followed him and joined the cohabitation of the adulterers. Thy mouth was opened to wickedness, and thy tongue made falsehood. Assigned, thou didst defame thy brother, and reproached the son of thy mother. / In front of what you've done, will I shut up? / Do you think that I am just like you? / This is what I accuse and rebuke / and I manifest these things in your eyes. Understand this, all you who forget God, † lest I take your life away, / without anyone else to save you! / Who offers me a sacrifice of praise, / this, yes, is that it honors me of truth. / Every man that doeth rightly / I will shew the salvation that is of God". Psalm 49/50.
