🇧🇷Ótimo dia: Evangelho 06Fev 🇺🇸Great day: Gospel Feb06

Jesus começou a ensinar-lhes muitas coisas.
Jesus began to teach them many things.

Evangelho do dia
Começou, pois, a ensinar-lhes muitas coisas. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 6,30-34 - At that time, 30 apostles met with Jesus and told everything they had done and taught. 31He said to them, "Come alone to a deserted place and rest for a while." There were, in fact, so many people coming and going, that they didn't even have time to eat. 32Then they went alone, by boat, to a deserted and remote place. 33Many saw them go and recognized that it was them. Leaving all cities, they ran on foot and got there before them. 34 When Jesus disembarked, he saw a large crowd and had compassion, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. He therefore began to teach them many things. - Word of salvation.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia: Evangelho 05Fev 🇺🇸Great day: Gospel Feb05

I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a plate now.

Evangelho do dia

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 6,14-29 - At that time, 14th King Herod heard about Jesus, whose name had become very well known. Some said: “John the Baptist rose from the dead. That is why the powers act on this man ”. 15 Others said, "It's Elijah." Others said, "He IS a prophet like one of the prophets". 16Hearing this, Herod said: “He is John the Baptist. I had his head cut off, but he was resurrected! ” 17Herod had ordered John to be arrested and chained to prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, whom he had married. 18John said to Herod, "You are not allowed to be with your brother's wife." 19 So Herodias hated him and wanted to kill him, but he couldn't. 20 Indeed, Herod was afraid of John, for he knew that he was just and holy, and therefore protected him. He liked to hear it, although he was embarrassed when he heard it. 21Finally, the opportune day came. It was Herod's birthday, and he made a great feast for the great court, the officials, and the important citizens of Galilee. 22 Herodias' daughter came in and danced, pleasing Herod and his guests. Then the king said to the girl: "Ask me for what you want and I will give it to you". 23And she swore to him, saying, "I will give you whatever you ask of me, even if it is half of my kingdom." 24She went out and asked her mother, "What am I going to ask for?" Her mother replied: "The head of John the Baptist". 25And she, returning quickly to the king, she asked: "I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a plate now." The king was very sad, but he could not refuse. He had taken the oath before the guests. 27 Immediately, the king ordered a soldier to fetch John's head. The soldier went out, slaughtered him in prison, 28 brought his head on a plate and gave it to the girl. She gave it to her mother. 29 Upon learning of this, John's disciples went there, took the corpse and buried it. - Word of salvation.

To Pray
Lord Jesus, Your forerunner John is in jail, at the behest of Herod, who cultivated contradictory thoughts and feelings about him: pleasure in hearing him, fear, hatred, protection. The greatest hatred was that of Herodias, who had the just and holy John the Baptist beheaded. Lord, deliver us from evil. Amen.

Evangelho do dia

Jesus went through the surrounding villages, teaching.

Evangelho do dia
Apenas curou alguns doentes, impondo-lhes as mãos. 6E admirou-se com a falta de fé deles. Jesus percorria os povoados das redondezas, ensinando. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 6,1-6 - At that time, 1 Jesus went to Nazareth, his land, and his disciples accompanied him. 2When the Sabbath came, he began teaching in the synagogue. Many who listened to him were amazed and said: “Where did he get all this from? How did he get so much wisdom? What about these great miracles that are performed by his hands? 3Isn't this man the carpenter, son of Mary and brother of James, Joset, Judas and Simon? Don't your sisters live here with us? ” And they were scandalized because of him. 4Jesus said to them: "A prophet alone is not esteemed in his homeland, among his relatives and relatives". 5And there he could not perform any miracles. He only healed a few sick people by laying hands on them. 6And he marveled at their lack of faith. Jesus toured the surrounding villages, teaching. - Word of salvation.

To Pray
O Jesus, in Nazareth Your land, you encounter strong opposition. Although you were known as "the carpenter", your countrymen did not open their hearts to Your divine words. Without being able to perform even a miracle there, he left for “the neighboring villages, teaching”. Amen.

Apresentação do Senhor.
Presentation of the Lord.

Evangelho do dia

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 2,22-40 - 22When the days for the purification of the mother and child were completed, according to the Law of Moses, Mary and Joseph took Jesus to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord , 23as it is written in the Law of the Lord: "Every firstborn male must be consecrated to the Lord". 24They also offered the sacrifice - a pair of doves or two lovebirds - as required by the Law of the Lord. 25 In Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon, who was just and godly and awaited the comfort of the people of Israel. The Holy Spirit was with him 26and had announced to him that he would not die before seeing the Messiah who comes from the Lord. 27Moved by the Spirit, Simeon came to the temple. When the parents brought the baby Jesus to do what the Law ordered, 28Simeon took the baby in his arms and blessed God: 29 “Now, Lord, according to your promise, you can let your servant go in peace; 30for my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared before all peoples: 32light to illuminate the nations and glory of your people Israel ”. 33 Jesus' father and mother were amazed at what they said about him. 34Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, the mother of Jesus: “This boy will be a cause of both fall and uplift for many in Israel. It will be a sign of contradiction. 35Thus the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. As for you, a sword will pierce your soul ”. 36There was also a prophetess, named Ana, daughter of Fanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; as a young woman, she had been married and lived with her husband for seven years. 37Then she had become a widow and was now eighty-four years old. She did not leave the temple, day and night, serving God with fasting and prayers. 38Anna arrived at that moment and began to praise God and to speak of the boy to all who were waiting for the liberation of Jerusalem. 39 After completing everything, according to the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to Nazareth, their city. 40The boy grew and became strong, full of wisdom; and the grace of God was with him. - Word of salvation.

To Pray
O Jesus, light to illuminate the nations, in Jerusalem you were presented to the Lord. Unspeakable joy for Simeon, who was waiting for the “consolation of Israel”. Challenge to Your Mother, who, when blessed, heard from Simeon the prophecy that You would be "cause of the fall and uplift of many in Israel". Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia: Evangelho 01Fev 🇺🇸Great day: Gospel Feb01

Jesus expulsa o demônio de um homem.
Jesus casts out a man's demon.

Evangelho do dia

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 5,1-20 - At that time, 1Jesus and his disciples arrived on the other side of the sea, in the region of the Gerasenes. 2 As soon as he left the boat, a man possessed by an impure spirit, leaving a cemetery, went to meet him. 3 This man lived in the midst of the tombs and no one was able to tie him up, not even with chains. 4 Many times he had been tied up with handcuffs and chains, but he broke the chains and broke the handcuffs. And nobody was able to dominate it. 5Day and night he wandered between tombs and mountains, shouting and stabbing himself with stones. 6Seeing Jesus from afar, the demoniac ran, fell on his knees before him 7 and shouted out loud: “What do you have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I conjure you up for God, don't torment me! ” 8In fact, Jesus said to him: "Impure spirit, come out of this man!" 9Then Jesus asked, "What is your name?" The man replied: "My name is Legion, because we are many." 10And he insisted that Jesus not expel him from the region. 11 There was a large herd of pigs nearby, grazing on the mountain. 12 The impure spirit then pleaded: "Send us to the pigs, that we may enter them." 13Jesus allowed it. Impure spirits left the man and entered the pigs. And the whole herd - about two thousand pigs - threw themselves down into the sea, where they drowned. 14The men guarding the pigs ran out and spread the word in the city and in the fields. And people went to see what had happened. 15They went to Jesus and saw the demoniac sitting, dressed and in his right mind, the one who was previously possessed by the Legion. And they were afraid. 16 Those who had witnessed the event explained to them what had happened to the demoniac and the pigs. 17Then they began to ask Jesus to leave their region. 18While Jesus was getting into the boat again, the man who had been demon-possessed asked him to let him stay with him. 19Jesus, however, did not allow it. In the meantime, he said to him, "Go home to your own and tell them all that the Lord, in his mercy, has done for you." 20Then the man left and began to preach in the Decapole everything that Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed. - Word of salvation.

Evangelho do dia

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 1,21-28 - 21In the city of Capernaum, on a Saturday, Jesus entered the synagogue and began teaching. 22Everyone was astonished at his teaching, for he taught as one who has authority, not as the teachers of the Law. 23Then a man was possessed by an evil spirit in the synagogue. He shouted: 24 “What do you want from us, Jesus Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: you are the Holy One of God ”. 25Jesus summoned him: "Shut up and get out of him!" 26Then the evil spirit violently shook the man, gave a great cry, and left. 27And everyone was very amazed and asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching, given with authority: he commands even the evil spirits, and they obey! ” 28And Jesus' fame soon spread everywhere, throughout the region of Galilee. - Word of salvation.

To Pray
Jesus of Nazareth, Your countrymen are enchanted with Your teachings, for they teach as one who has authority. You once said, "I speak these things as the Father taught me." Teach us, Lord, to utter words that transform us and make us blossom and grow. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia: Evangelho 30 Jan 🇺🇸Great day: Gospel Jan 30

O vento cessou e houve uma grande calmaria.
The wind stopped and there was a great calm.

Evangelho do dia

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 4,35-41 - 35On that day, in the evening, Jesus said to his disciples: "Let's go to the other shore!" 36They dismissed the crowd and took Jesus with them, just as he was, in the boat. There were still other boats with him. 37 A very strong gust started to blow and the waves were launching inside the boat, so that the boat was already starting to fill. 38Jesus was in the back, sleeping on a pillow. The disciples woke him up and said, "Master, we are perishing and you don't care?" 39He got up and ordered the wind and the sea: “Silence! Shut up!" The wind stopped and there was a great calm. 40Then Jesus asked the disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith? ” 41They felt a great fear and said to each other, "Who is this, whom even the wind and the sea obey?" - Word of salvation.

To Pray
O Jesus, the disciples are frightened by the fiery waves that are launched into the boat. They are the tribulations of the way, our doubts, fears, indecision. Come to our aid, Lord, and feed us with Your Word and the Eucharist, to overcome the obstacles of the journey. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia: Evangelho 29 Jan 🇺🇸Great day: Gospel Jan 29

Parábola do grão de mostarda.
Parable of the mustard seed.

Evangelho do dia

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 4,26-34 - At that time, 26Jesus said to the crowd: “The Kingdom of God is like when someone spreads the seed on the earth. 27He goes to sleep and wakes up, night and day, and the seed germinates and grows, but he doesn't know how it happens. The earth itself produces the fruit: first the leaves appear, then the ear, and finally the grains that fill the ear. 29When the ears are ripe, the man immediately puts the scythe, because the time for the harvest has arrived ”. 30And Jesus continued, “With what else can we compare the Kingdom of God? What parable will we use to represent him? 31The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, which, when sown on the earth, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth. 32When it is sown, it grows and grows larger than all the vegetables, and extends branches so large that the birds of the sky can take shelter in their shade ”. 33Jesus announced the Word using many parables like these, as they could understand. 34And he spoke to them only in parables, but when he was alone with the disciples, he explained everything. - Word of salvation.

To Pray
O Jesus, you use parables so that Your hearers may better understand Your message. Then you compare the Kingdom of God to a tiny seed, which then becomes a leafy tree. Give us, Lord, faith and hope as we await the fruits of the Kingdom of God. Amen.

🇧🇷Ótimo dia: Evangelho 28 Jan 🇺🇸Great day: Gospel Jan 28

With the same measure with which you measure, you too will be measured.

Evangelho do dia

Gospel of the day
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 4,21-25 - At that time, Jesus said to the crowd: 21 “Who is it that brings a lamp to place it under a box or under the bed? On the contrary, don't you put it in a lamp? 22Thus, everything that is hidden must become manifest, and everything that is in secret must be discovered. 23If someone has ears to hear, listen ”. 24Jesus also said: “Pay attention to what you hear: with the same measure with which you measure, you too will be measured; and you will be given even more. 25To what has something, more will be given; of what he doesn't have, even what he has will be taken away ”. - Word of salvation.
