Blessed is the one who believed.

A partir de sólida tradição, a imagem de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe aparece estampada no manto do índio João Diego, em 1531, na cidade do México. O culto à Virgem de Guadalupe propagou-se rapidamente e favoreceu a divulgação da fé cristã entre os indígenas. Construído ao pé da colina de Tepeyac, lugar das aparições, o atual santuário foi concluído em 1709 e elevado à categoria de basílica pelo Papa Pio X, em 1904. Este mesmo Papa, em 1910, conferiu à Virgem de Guadalupe o título de Padroeira da América Latina. João Diego foi canonizado pelo Papa São João Paulo II, em 2002.

From a solid tradition, the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe appears on the cloak of the Indian John Diego, in 1531, in Mexico City. The cult of the Virgin of Guadalupe spread rapidly and favored the spread of the Christian faith among the natives. Built at the foot of the Tepeyac hill, place of apparitions, the present shrine was completed in 1709 and elevated to the category of basilica by Pope Pius X in 1904. This same Pope in 1910 gave the Virgin of Guadalupe the title of Patron Saint of Latin America. John Diego was canonized by Pope St. John Paul II in 2002.

Manifestai a sua glória entre as nações.

(Lk 1,28) - Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 1,39-47 - 39In those days Mary set out for the mountainous region, hurrying to a city of Judea. 40He went into the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child jumped into her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 With a great cry he exclaimed, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb! 43How can I deserve to have my Lord's mother come to visit me?
