Nunca encontrei em Israel alguém que tivesse tanta fé.

I have never met anyone in Israel who had such faith.

O oficial, chamado também de centurião, era responsável por cem soldados romanos. Exercia importante cargo na sociedade e mesmo assim, desapega-se de sua posição social e se dispõe a procurar Jesus para lhe pedir discretamente que venha em socorro do seu empregado enfermo. Embora não pertença ao povo de Israel, o centurião crê que Jesus é um enviado de Deus e tem poder de curar. Jesus não só atende ao seu pedido, curando-lhe o empregado, mas elogia a sua fé. O centurião é um dos primeiros de uma série de pagãos que vão se abrir para formar a nova família de Deus, os cristãos.

The officer, also called the centurion, was responsible for one hundred Roman soldiers. He held an important position in society, and yet he detaches himself from his social position and is willing to seek Jesus to discreetly ask him to come to the aid of his ailing employee. Although he does not belong to the people of Israel, the centurion believes that Jesus is an envoy of God and has the power to heal. Not only does Jesus respond to your request by healing His servant, but He praises your faith. The centurion is one of the first in a series of pagans who will open to form God's new family, Christians.
