🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 23/01/19 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 01/23/19

Salvar uma vida ou deixá-la morrer?
Save a life or let it die?

1a. Leitura

– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the letter to the Hebrews 7, 1-3, 15-17 - Brethren, 1Melchishek king of Salem, the priest of the most high God, went out to meet Abraham as he returned from battle against kings and blessed him. 2And it came to him that Abraham gave the tenth of all. And his name means, first of all, "king of righteousness"; and then "king of Salem," which means "king of peace." 3 No father, no mother, no genealogy, no beginning of days, no end of life! This is how he resembles the Son of God and remains a priest forever. 15 This becomes even more evident when another priest, like Melchizedek, appears, not by virtue of a prescription of a carnal order, but by the force of an imperishable life. 17For the testimony says, "Thou art a priest for ever in the order of Melchizedek." - Word of the Lord.

Evangelho

Ele a estendeu e a mão ficou curada.

Gospel
Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 3: 1-6 - At that time, 1 Jesus entered the synagogue again. There was a man there with a dry hand. 2 Some watched him to see if he would heal on the Sabbath day, so they could accuse him. 3Jesus said to the man with the dry hand, "Arise and stand in the midst!" 4And he asked them, "Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil? Save a life or let it die? "But they said nothing. 5 Then Jesus looked around him, full of wrath and sorrow, because they were hard of heart, and said to the man, "Reach out." He held it out and his hand was healed. 6 When they went out, the Pharisees with Herod's supporters immediately plotted against Jesus how they would kill him. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
An environment of mistrust involves the person of Jesus. The synagogue was the space where the Law of God was taught and prayers were made. Jesus interrupts the customary ritual and places the man with the paralyzed hand in the center, the figure of the oppressed. He addresses everyone a question, whose answer was obvious, but no one opened his mouth: "On the Sabbath (today, Sunday), is it permissible to do good or to do evil? Save a life or let it die? ". With power and a brief order, Jesus returns complete health to the invalid (people). The Pharisees, however, eager to catch Jesus doing something wrong, withdraw from the synagogue, unconverted. Instead of honoring God, they consult the Herodians to plot the death of the Son of God. Jesus is right to throw upon them "a look of indignation and sorrow."
