Nem mesmo em Israel encontrei tamanha fé.
Not even in Israel have found such faith.

– Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - Timothy 2,1-8
Reading the first letter of St. Paul to Timothy – expensive, 1 first of all, I recommend you do prayers and prayers, supplications and Thanksgiving for all men; 2 for those who govern and by all those who occupy high positions, in order that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life, with all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleasing to God our Saviour; 4 he wants all men to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth. 5 for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus: 6 who gave himself up in ransom for all. This is the testimony given in the time established by God, and 7 for this testimony I was appointed preacher and apostle, and – the truth, don't lie – master of the pagan Nations in faith and truth. 8 I want to, so that everywhere the men do the prayer, lifting Holy hands without anger and without discussion. -The word of the Lord.

Evangelho - Lucas 7,1-10

Gospel - Luke 7,1-10
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke-at that time, 1 when just talking to the people who listened, Jesus entered Capernaum. 2 there was a Roman officer who had an employee, who estimated that he was sick, on the verge of death. 3 the officer heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to ask Jesus to come save your employee. 4 coming up where Jesus was, asked with insistence: "this officer deserves to do this favor, 5 because he estimates our people. He even built us a synagogue. " 6 then Jesus stood on their way with them. However, when he was near the House, the officer sent some friends say to Jesus: "Lord, don't bother, because I am not worthy of you to get in my house. 7 even thought me worthy to go personally to meet. But orders with your Word, and my servant will be healed. 8 I am under authority, but I have soldiers who obey my orders. If I order a: ' Go! ', he goes; and to another, ' come! ', he comes; and to my servant, ' do this! ', and he does it ". 9 hearing this, Jesus was admired. Turned to the crowd that followed him and said: "I now pronounce you not even in Israel have found such faith." 10 the messengers returned to the official's House and found the employee in perfect health. -The word of salvation.
Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
We have a model of faith. A centurion (head of 100 soldiers in the service of the Roman occupiers) don't drive directly to Jesus, but sends him an Entourage of Jewish elders asking him to go heal your employee who so esteem. By emissaries, we know that the man had a good heart. Jesus part with them. But, full of humility and trust, the military sends some friends with this message for Jesus: just say a Word, and my servant will be healed. This is the case, so that the emissaries, upon returning home, they found the servant well. And Jesus, taken from deep admiration, magnifies the faith that the pagan. With this episode, Lucas already announces the time in which the Gospel, by the action of the Holy Spirit, will extend also to non-Jews.
