"I saw the Lord!"

Este é o dia que o Senhor fez para nós, / alegremo-nos e nele exultemos! (Sl 117,24) – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo João 20,11-18 – Naquele tempo, 11Maria estava do lado de fora do túmulo, chorando. Enquanto chorava, inclinou-se e olhou para dentro do túmulo. 12Viu, então, dois anjos vestidos de branco, sentados onde tinha sido posto o corpo de Jesus, um à cabeceira e outro aos pés. 13Os anjos perguntaram: “Mulher, por que choras?” Ela respondeu: “Levaram o meu Senhor e não sei onde o colocaram”. 14Tendo dito isso, Maria voltou-se para trás e viu Jesus, de pé. Mas não sabia que era Jesus. 15Jesus perguntou-lhe: “Mulher, por que choras? A quem procuras?” Pensando que era o jardineiro, Maria disse: “Senhor, se foste tu que o levaste, dize-me onde o colocaste, e eu o irei buscar”. 16Então Jesus disse: “Maria!” Ela voltou-se e exclamou, em hebraico: “Rabuni” (que quer dizer mestre). 17Jesus disse: “Não me segures. Ainda não subi para junto do Pai. Mas vai dizer aos meus irmãos: subo para junto do meu Pai e vosso Pai, meu Deus e vosso Deus”. 18Então Maria Madalena foi anunciar aos discípulos: “Eu vi o Senhor!” e contou o que Jesus lhe tinha dito. – Palavra da salvação.

This is the day the Lord has made for us, / rejoice and rejoice in it! (Ps 117,24) - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 20: 11-18 - At that time, 11Maria was outside the tomb, crying. While crying, he leaned over and looked into the grave. 12 Then he saw two angels dressed in white, sitting where Jesus' body had been placed, one at the head and one at the feet. 13The angels asked, "Woman, why are you crying?" She replied, "They took my Lord and I don't know where they put him." 14 Having said that, Mary turned around and saw Jesus standing. But I didn't know it was Jesus. 15Jesus asked him, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for? ” Thinking that he was the gardener, Maria said: "Lord, if it was you who took him, tell me where you put him, and I will go and get him". 16Then Jesus said, "Mary!" She turned and exclaimed, in Hebrew: "Rabuni" (which means master). 17Jesus said, “Don't hold me back. I have not yet gone up to the Father. But he will say to my brothers: I am going up to my Father and your Father, my God and your God ”. 18Then Mary Magdalene went to announce to the disciples: “I saw the Lord!” and told what Jesus had said to him. - Word of salvation.

Jesus ressuscitado reservou para Maria Madalena um encontro pessoal. Ela representa a comunidade que está à procura do Mestre. Chora por não encontrar o corpo de Jesus no sepulcro; chora naturalmente pela perda do amigo. Quando Maria dá as costas ao passado e olha para aquele que a chama pelo nome, descobre que está diante do Senhor ressuscitado. Levada pela emoção e alegria, tenta segurá-lo. Jesus a corrige: “Não me retenha”. Doravante seu relacionamento com Jesus assume um modo novo. A missão da comunidade não é segurar Jesus, mas anunciá-lo aos irmãos. É o que faz Maria Madalena, tornando-se, desse modo, a primeira evangelista da ressurreição de Jesus.

The risen Jesus reserved a personal encounter for Mary Magdalene. It represents the community that is looking for the Master. Weeps for not finding the body of Jesus in the tomb; cries naturally for the loss of the friend. When Mary turns her back on the past and looks at the one who calls her by name, she discovers that she is before the risen Lord. Carried by emotion and joy, she tries to hold it. Jesus corrects it: "Don't hold me back." From now on, your relationship with Jesus takes on a new form. The community's mission is not to hold Jesus, but to announce him to the brothers. This is what Mary Magdalene does, thus becoming the first evangelist of the resurrection of Jesus.
