"Rejoice!"

Este é o dia que o Senhor fez para nós, alegremo-nos e nele exultemos! (Sl 117,24) – Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus 28,8-15 – Naquele tempo, 8as mulheres partiram depressa do sepulcro. Estavam com medo, mas correram com grande alegria para dar a notícia aos discípulos. 9De repente, Jesus foi ao encontro delas e disse: “Alegrai-vos!” As mulheres aproximaram-se e prostraram-se diante de Jesus, abraçando seus pés. 10Então Jesus disse a elas: “Não tenhais medo. Ide anunciar aos meus irmãos que se dirijam para a Galileia. Lá eles me verão”. 11Quando as mulheres partiram, alguns guardas do túmulo foram à cidade e comunicaram aos sumos sacerdotes tudo o que havia acontecido. 12Os sumos sacerdotes reuniram-se com os anciãos, e deram uma grande soma de dinheiro aos soldados, 13dizendo-lhes: “Dizei que os discípulos dele foram durante a noite e roubaram o corpo enquanto vós dormíeis. 14Se o governador ficar sabendo disso, nós o convenceremos. Não vos preocupeis”. 15Os soldados pegaram o dinheiro e agiram de acordo com as instruções recebidas. E assim, o boato espalhou-se entre os judeus até o dia de hoje. – Palavra da salvação.

This is the day the Lord has made for us, let us rejoice and rejoice in it! (Ps 117,24) - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 28,8-15 - At that time, 8 women left the tomb quickly. They were afraid, but they ran with great joy to give the news to the disciples. 9 Suddenly, Jesus went to them and said: "Rejoice!" The women came and prostrated themselves before Jesus, embracing his feet. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and announce to my brothers that they are going to Galilee. There they will see me ”. 11When the women left, some tomb guards went to the city and reported to the high priests everything that had happened. 12The high priests met with the elders, and gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13 saying to them: “Say that his disciples went during the night and stole the body while you slept. 14If the governor finds out about this, we will convince him. Do not worry ”. 15The soldiers took the money and acted on the instructions received. And so, the rumor has spread among the Jews to this day. - Word of salvation.

Dois modos de admitir que Jesus ressuscitou: o testemunho das mulheres e a tramoia das autoridades religiosas para abafar o fato. As mulheres deparam-se com o sepulcro vazio e a aparição do Ressuscitado, que fala com elas; quanto aos sumos sacerdotes, pretendem dar uma explicação ao fenômeno, negando a ressurreição de Jesus. Não admitem que foram derrotados; inventam uma história paralela. Recorrem à mentira e, para sustentá-la, dão “bastante dinheiro aos soldados”. Caem no ridículo ao lutar contra as evidências. Vencedor da morte, Jesus dá aos discípulos o título de irmãos e, por meio das mulheres, recomenda que se dirijam à Galileia. Foi aí, longe de Jerusalém, centro do poder, que Jesus começou seu ministério, escolhendo seus discípulos, continuadores de sua obra.

Two ways of admitting that Jesus is risen: the testimony of women and the clamor of religious authorities to cover up the fact. The women are faced with the empty tomb and the appearance of the Risen One, who speaks to them; as for the high priests, they intend to explain the phenomenon, denying the resurrection of Jesus. They do not admit that they have been defeated; invent a parallel story. They resort to lying and, in order to sustain it, they give “enough money to soldiers”. They are ridiculous when fighting against the evidence. Winner of death, Jesus gives the disciples the title of brothers and, through women, recommends that they go to Galilee. It was there, far from Jerusalem, the center of power, that Jesus began his ministry, choosing his disciples, who continued his work.
