12/4 🇧🇷Evangelho do dia 🇺🇸Gospel of the day

Ressuscitou. Feliz Páscoa.
He is risen. Happy Easter.

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia. Ele viu e acreditou. 9De fato, eles ainda não tinham compreendido a Escritura, segundo a qual ele devia ressuscitar dos mortos. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. Our paschal lamb, / Jesus Christ, has already been sacrificed. / Let us celebrate this party / in sincerity and truth (1Cor 5,7s). - Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 20: 1-9 - 1 On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to Jesus' tomb, very early in the morning, when it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb. 2So she ran and went to meet Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said to them, "They took the Lord out of the tomb and we don't know where they put him." 3 Then Peter and the other disciple went out and went to the tomb. 4The two ran together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 Looking in, he saw the linen strips on the floor, but he did not enter. 6 Simon Peter also came, who was running after him, and entered the tomb. He saw the linen strips lying on the floor 7 and the cloth that had been on Jesus' head, not put with the strips, but wrapped in a separate place. 8 Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also entered. He saw and believed. 9 Indeed, they had not yet understood Scripture, according to which he was to rise from the dead. - Word of salvation.

Reflection
Maria Madalena worries about what happened over the weekend. At dawn, he goes to the grave and finds it empty. Still not understanding what is happening, he runs back to announce to the disciples: "They took the Lord out of the tomb". The two apostles - Peter and the other disciple - run to check Mary's statement. It was dawn, the text says, a sign that the new day was about to reveal itself in all its splendor. Easter is this “new day” when love overcomes the signs of death and faith dispels doubts. Love and faith make us stronger to overcome the risks that can undermine our commitment to Jesus' project.
