Evangelho - Lucas 1,26-38

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – Naquele tempo, ²⁶o anjo Gabriel foi enviado por Deus a uma cidade da Galileia, chamada Nazaré, ²⁷a uma virgem, prometida em casamento a um homem chamado José. Ele era descendente de Davi, e o nome da virgem era Maria. ²⁸O anjo entrou onde ela estava e disse: “Alegra-te, cheia de graça, o Senhor está contigo!” ²⁹Maria ficou perturbada com essas palavras e começou a pensar qual seria o significado da saudação. ³⁰O anjo, então, disse-lhe: “Não tenhas medo, Maria, porque encontraste graça diante de Deus. ³¹Eis que conceberás e darás à luz um filho, a quem porás o nome de Jesus. ³²Ele será grande, será chamado Filho do Altíssimo, e o Senhor Deus lhe dará o trono de seu pai Davi. ³³Ele reinará para sempre sobre os descendentes de Jacó, e o seu reino não terá fim”. ³⁴Maria perguntou ao anjo: “Como acontecerá isso se eu não conheço homem algum?” ³⁵O anjo respondeu: “O Espírito virá sobre ti e o poder do Altíssimo te cobrirá com sua sombra. Por isso, o menino que vai nascer será chamado Santo, Filho de Deus. ³⁶Também Isabel, tua parenta, concebeu um filho na velhice. Este já é o sexto mês daquela que era considerada estéril, ³⁷porque para Deus nada é impossível”. ³⁸Maria, então, disse: “Eis aqui a serva do Senhor; faça-se em mim segundo a tua palavra!” E o anjo retirou-se. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Luke 1, 26-38

At that time, the 26 angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee, called Nazareth, to a virgin, promised in marriage to a man named Joseph. He was a descendant of David, and the name of the virgin was Mary. 28The angel came in and said, "Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you!" 29 Mary was troubled by these words and began to wonder what the meaning of the salutation would be. 30The angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Mary, because you have found favor with God. 31And thou shalt conceive, and bear a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great, he will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. 33 He shall reign forever over the descendants of Jacob, and his kingdom shall have no end. " 34Maria asked the angel, "How will this happen if I do not know any man?" The angel replied, "The Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called the Holy One, the Son of God. 36 And Elizabeth, thy kinswoman, conceived a son in old age. This is already the sixth month of that which was considered barren, 37because nothing is impossible with God. " 38Mariah said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word! "And the angel departed. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Este dia – quase sempre celebrado em 25 de março, nove meses antes do Natal – marca a concepção de Maria, dia em que ela disse sim a Deus e se compromete a colaborar com seus planos. Maria em sua vida cotidiana em Nazaré é visitada pelo anjo do Senhor. O primeiro anúncio do anjo é de alegria, alegre-se, o Senhor está com você. A presença do Senhor alegra e dá esperança a qualquer ser humano. Diante disso, Maria fica se interrogando o que seria essa saudação. O anjo a tranquiliza e anuncia-lhe o plano de Deus, ou seja, o que Deus espera dela. Ela aceita o desafio e se deixa envolver pelo Espírito de Deus. Com isso, ela, submissa à vontade divina, colabora com a humanidade, trazendo ao mundo aquele que será chamado Filho de Deus, o Emanuel, o Deus conosco. Maria se dispõe a fazer a vontade de Deus, acolhendo aquele que viria cumprir a vontade do Pai, Jesus. Rezamos no pai-nosso que a vontade de Deus seja feita, como é importante abrir-se à ação de Deus, a exemplo de Maria, e buscar realizar, no dia a dia, o que ele espera de cada um de nós. Deus aguarda também o nosso sim para que ele continue vindo e faça morada com a humanidade.

Reflecting the Gospel

This day - almost always celebrated on March 25, nine months before Christmas - marks the conception of Mary, the day when she said yes to God and commits herself to collaborate with her plans. Mary in her daily life in Nazareth is visited by the angel of the Lord. The angel's first announcement is of joy, rejoice, the Lord is with you. The presence of the Lord rejoices and gives hope to any human being. Faced with this, Mary is wondering what that greeting would be. The angel reassures her and announces to her the plan of God, that is, what God expects of her. She accepts the challenge and lets herself be enveloped by the Spirit of God. With this, she, submissive to the divine will, collaborates with humanity, bringing to the world the one who will be called the Son of God, Immanuel, the God with us. Mary is willing to do the will of God, welcoming him who would come to fulfill the will of the Father, Jesus. We pray in the Lord's father that the will of God be done, how important it is to open oneself to the action of God, like Mary, and to seek to accomplish, day by day, what he expects of each one of us. God also awaits our yes so that he may continue to come and dwell with mankind.

I have proclaimed all your righteousness † without holding it in my heart; your help and loyalty will tell. / I did not quench your grace and truth / in the presence of the great assembly.
