1a. Leitura - Gálatas 4,4-7

Leitura da carta de são Paulo aos Gálatas – Irmãos, ⁴ quando se completou o tempo previsto, Deus enviou o seu Filho, nascido de uma mulher, nascido sujeito à lei, ⁵ a fim de resgatar os que eram sujeitos à lei e para que todos recebêssemos a filiação adotiva. ⁶ E porque sois filhos, Deus enviou aos nossos corações o Espírito do seu Filho, que clama: Abá – ó Pai! ⁷ Assim já não és mais escravo, mas filho; e se és filho, és também herdeiro, tudo isso por graça de Deus. – Palavra do Senhor.

1st Reading - Galatians 4,4-7

Reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Galatians – Brothers, 4 when you completed the time, God sent your Son, born of woman, born under law, 5 in order to rescue those who were subject to the law and that all receive the adoptive filiation. 6 and because ye are sons, God has sent into our hearts the spirit of your Son, which cries out: Abá-o father! 7 So you're not a slave, but a son; and if you're a child, you're also heir, all this by the grace of God. -The word of the Lord.

Evangelho - Lucas 1,39-47

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – ³⁹ Naqueles dias, Maria partiu para a região montanhosa, dirigindo-se, apressadamente, a uma cidade da Judeia. ⁴⁰ Entrou na casa de Zacarias e cumprimentou Isabel. ⁴¹ Quando Isabel ouviu a saudação de Maria, a criança pulou no seu ventre e Isabel ficou cheia do Espírito Santo. ⁴² Com um grande grito, exclamou: “Bendita és tu entre as mulheres e bendito é o fruto do teu ventre! ⁴³ Como posso merecer que a mãe do meu Senhor me venha visitar? ⁴⁴ Logo que a tua saudação chegou aos meus ouvidos, a criança pulou de alegria no meu ventre. ⁴⁵ Bem-aventurada aquela que acreditou, porque será cumprido o que o Senhor lhe prometeu”. ⁴⁶ Então Maria disse: “A minha alma engrandece o Senhor, ⁴⁷ e o meu espírito se alegra em Deus, meu salvador”. – Palavra da salvação.

Gospel - Luke 1,39-47

Refletindo o Evangelho  

Segundo sólida tradição, a imagem da Virgem de Guadalupe apareceu impressa na manta do índio João Diego, em 1531, na cidade do México. Seu culto propagou-se rapidamente e muito contribuiu para a difusão da fé entre os indígenas. O santuário atual foi concluído em 1709 e elevado à categoria de basílica pelo Papa São Pio X, em 1904. Em 1910, o mesmo Papa proclamou Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe padroeira da América Latina. João Diego foi canonizado pelo Papa João Paulo II em 31 de julho de 2002. A presença de Maria de Guadalupe é um abraço amoroso a todos os seus devotos, mas é também uma opção profunda pelos pobres e marginalizados. Com efeito, o diálogo de Maria começa com um indígena, o centro de irradiação é Tepeyac, às margens da cidade, entre as pessoas simples e abandonadas.

Reflecting the Gospel 

According to tradition, the image of solid Virgin of Guadalupe appeared imprinted on the Indian blanket John Diego, in 1531, in Mexico City.
