🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 03/01/19 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 01/03/19

Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

1a. Leitura

– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading of the first letter of Saint John 2,29-3,6 - Dearly beloved, because you know that he is righteous, know also that everyone who practices righteousness is born of him. 3,1 Behold what a great gift of love the Father has given us: to be called children of God! And we are! If the world does not know us, it is because it did not know the Father. 2 Dear friends, we are God's children right now, but we have not even shown what we will be! We know that when Jesus appears, we will be like him, because we will see him as he is. 3 Everyone who expects in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. 4 Everyone who commits sin commits iniquity, for sin is iniquity. 5 Ye know that he was manifested to take away sins, and that there is no sin in him. 6 Everyone who sins shows that he did not see or know him. - Word of the Lord.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 1: 29-34 - 29 The next day John saw Jesus approaching him and said, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. 30Then I said, After me comes a man who passed before me, because he existed before me. 31I also did not know him, but if I came to baptize with water, it was that he should be made manifest to Israel. " 32And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven as a dove, and abiding on him. 33I also did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'Whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining, he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.' 34I have seen and bear witness: this is the Son of God! "- Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
John the Baptist is not content to announce the coming of the Messiah. Take the opportunity to point it to your disciples and to the people. And he does so by presenting three characteristics of Jesus: 1st Jesus is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. The Jews could understand what it meant to be "lamb," since they offered lambs in sacrifice to beg for God's forgiveness. Jesus will sacrifice himself for us; there will be no more need to offer animals in sacrifice. Jesus is the true Lamb who replaces the Passover lamb; 2nd Jesus baptizes not only with water, but John, but baptizes with the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit who gives new life; 3rd Jesus is the Son of God, the one who reveals the Father's plan.

Salmo - 97/98
Aclamai o Senhor Deus, ó terra inteira, / alegrai-vos e exultai!

Psalm - 97/98
The ends of the universe have contemplated the salvation of our God.
Sing to the Lord God a new song, / for he has done wonders! / His hand and strong and holy arm / won him victory.
The ends of the universe have contemplated the salvation of our God. / The Lord God, the whole earth, shout / rejoice and rejoice!
Sing psalms to the Lord at the sound of the harp and the soft zither! Shout with the trumpets and the trumpets the Lord our king.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke.
2 16 The shepherds went in great haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. 17 When they saw him, they told what had been said about this child.
18 All that heard them were amazed at the things that the shepherds told them.
19 Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, and which was according to that which was spoken unto them.
21 And it came to pass, when the child was circumcised eight days, that the name of Jesus was called unto him, as the angel had called him, before he was conceived in the womb.
Word of Salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho
FELIZ ANO NOVO!

Reflecting the Gospel
To the shepherds, after experiencing the glory of God in their own lives, came the greater news that a human being can receive: the Savior, the Messiah is among us, gives us his light, his grace and changes our life, our way to be, to live and to live together. In the life of the shepherds everything happened to be different after they found the boy God. They came back to praise, glorifying God and making known the absolute newness that had come to men. With Mary and the pastors we learn that contemplation, worship and praise are prerequisites for the proclamation to take place with authority. Let us pray to the Mother of God today to help us to be faithful to the plan of God in our lives throughout the new year. God bless you! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Salmo - 66/67

pois julgais o universo com justiça;
os povos governais com retidão
e guiais, em toda a terra, as nações.

Que as nações vos glorifiquem, ó Senhor,
que todas as nações vos glorifiquem!

for you judge the universe with righteousness;
