🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 20/02/19 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 02/20/19

E o cego passou a enxergar claramente.
And the blind man came to see clearly.

1a. Leitura

– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading from the book of Genesis 8,6-13.20-22 – 6After forty days, Noah opened the window which he had made in the ark, and let loose a raven, 7 and it rolled away until the waters were dried up on the earth. 8And he returned a dove to see if the waters had come down on the face of the earth. 9But the dove, not finding where to land, returned to him in the ark; because the waters still covered the surface of the whole earth. Noah reached out, picked up the dove, and gathered it into the ark. 10 Then he waited seven more days and let the dove go again. 11And in the evening she came again, and behold, she had in her beak an olive branch with green leaves. So Noah understood that the waters had ceased to cover the earth. 12 And he tarried for seven days, and let go of the dove, and he came not again. 13And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year of the life of Noah, on the first day of the first month, that the waters departed from the land. Noah opened the roof of the ark, looked and saw that the whole surface of the earth was dry. 20And Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took animals and birds of every kind, and offered burnt offerings upon the altar. 21The Lord breathed in the pleasant odor and said to himself, "I will never again curse the earth for man's sake, for the inclinations of his heart are more from youth. I will not, as I have done, hurt all living beings. 22 While the earth lasts, planting and harvesting, cold and hot, summer and winter, day and night shall never end. - Word of the Lord.

Evangelho

Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.
Que o Pai do Senhor Jesus Cristo vos dê do saber o espírito, / para que conheçais a esperança, reservada para vós como herança! (Ef 1,17s) – R.

Gospel
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
May the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ give you of the knowledge of the spirit, so that you may know the hope, reserved for you as an inheritance! (Eph 1,17s) - R.
Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 8: 22-26 - At that time, Jesus and his disciples came to Bethsaida. Some people brought him a blind man and asked Jesus to touch him. 23Jesus took the blind man by the hand, led him out of the village, spat in his eyes, put his hands on him and asked, "Do you see anything?" The man looked up and said, "I see men. They look like walking trees. " 25Then Jesus laid his hands upon his eyes again, and he saw clearly. He was cured and saw all things clearly. 26Jesus told the man to go home and said, "Do not enter the village!" - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
The blind man is a figure of the disciples who, although they have seen the numerous signs that Jesus carried out, continue with the fixed idea of a nationalistic Messiah, dominating the peoples. They do not understand the practice of Jesus; they do not know who he is. This episode, unique to Mark, becomes a symbol of what Jesus will do from now on with his disciples. It will lead them and lead them to a correct understanding of their person and mission. Jesus accomplishes the healing of the blind in two acts. In the first, the blind man still sees in a confused way; only after the second act does he see clearly. As the disciples clearly understand who Jesus is, they will be able to join him and his project with greater awareness and freedom. Your adherence will then be authentic love response.

Salmo 115/116b

Psalm 115/116b
Offer to the Lord a sacrifice of praise.
What can I repay to the Lord God for all that he has done for me? / I lift the cup of my salvation, / calling on the holy name of the Lord.
I will fulfill my promises to the Lord / in the presence of his assembled people. / He is over-sorry for the Lord / the death of his saints, his friends.
I will fulfill my promises to the Lord / in the presence of his assembled people; / in the courts of the house of the Lord, / in thy midst, O city of Zion!

🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 18/02/19 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 02/18/19

These people will not be given any sign.

1a. Leitura

14Se, hoje, me expulsas desta terra, devo esconder-me de ti, tornando-me um fugitivo a vaguear sobre a terra; qualquer um que me encontrar me matará”. 15E o Senhor lhe disse: “Não! – Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading from the book of Genesis 4, 1-15. 25 - 1 And Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bare Cain, saying, "I have begotten a man with the Lord's help." 2And Abel, the brother of Cain, bare him. Abel was a shepherd and Cain the farmer. 3And it came to pass afterward, that Cain offered the fruits of the land as a sacrifice unto the LORD. 4 And Abel offered the firstborn of his flock with his fatness. The Lord looked at Abel and his offering, but at Cain and his offering did not look. Cain was filled with wrath, and his countenance became despondent. 6Then the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you filled with wrath and walk with a downcast face? 7It is true that if you do good, you will walk with your head held high; but if you do evil, sin will be at the door, stalking you. But you can control it. " 8Caim said to his brother Abel, "Let us go to the country." As soon as they came to the camp, Cain threw himself on his brother Abel and killed him. 9And the Lord said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" He answered, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper? "The Lord said to him," What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying out for me from the earth. 11But now you will be cursed by the land that opened your mouth to receive the blood of your brother from your hands! 12When you cultivate it, it will deny you its fruits. And you will be a fugitive, wandering on the earth. " 13Caim said to the Lord, "My punishment is too great for me to bear. 14If today you drive me out of this land, I must hide myself from you, becoming a fugitive to wander on the earth; Anyone who finds me will kill me. " 15And the Lord said to him, "No! But whoever kills Cain will be punished seven times! "The Lord then set a mark on Cain, so that no one would kill him when he met him. 25And Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, whom she called Set, saying, "The Lord gave me another descendant in the place of Abel, whom Cain killed." - Word of the Lord.

Evangelho

Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.

Gospel
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
I am the way, the truth and the life, / no one comes to the Father, but by me (John 14,6). - R.
Proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark 8: 11-13 - At that time, 11 Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus. And to test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven. But Jesus sighed deeply and said, "Why do these people ask for a sign? Verily I say unto you, these men shall be given no sign. " 13And leaving them, Jesus went into the boat again and went to the other shore. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
The Pharisees, known for their strict observance of the Law, generally do not accept the teachings of Jesus or his way of acting. In several episodes, they join the doctors of the Law to put Jesus to the test, and if possible make him fall into the trap. Notwithstanding all the marvelous works performed by Jesus in the midst of the people, the Pharisees ask him for a sign from heaven, something more extraordinary than they are seeing. Jesus simply refuses to give a free show. It does not seek the applause of people, but the conversion of them. By performing the works that the Father commissioned him to do, Jesus wants to reach human hearts and lead them to the path of life and freedom. Not finding here fertile ground for his message, he retires by boat to another place, in search of people with better dispositions.

Salmo 49/50

Psalm 49/50
Make a sacrifice of praise to God!
The Lord God spoke, called the earth, and from the rising sun to the setting sun he called it. / I do not come to reproach your sacrifices, / for your burnt offerings are always before me.
"How dare you repeat my precepts / and bring my covenant in your mouth? / You who hated my laws and my counsels / and turned my back on the words of my lips!
Settled, you defamed your brother / and reviled your son's son. / In front of what you've done, will I shut up? / Do you think that I am just like you? / That is what I accuse you and I rebuke / and manifest these things in your eyes. "
