Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 21,12-19 – Naquele tempo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: 12“Antes que essas coisas aconteçam, sereis presos e perseguidos; sereis entregues às sinagogas e postos na prisão; sereis levados diante de reis e governadores por causa do meu nome. 13Essa será a ocasião em que testemunhareis a vossa fé. 14Fazei o firme propósito de não planejar com antecedência a própria defesa; 15porque eu vos darei palavras tão acertadas, que nenhum dos inimigos vos poderá resistir ou rebater. 16Sereis entregues até mesmo pelos próprios pais, irmãos, parentes e amigos. E eles matarão alguns de vós. 17Todos vos odiarão por causa do meu nome. 18Mas vós não perdereis um só fio de cabelo da vossa cabeça. 19É permanecendo firmes que ireis ganhar a vida!” – Palavra da salvação.

Refletindo o Evangelho 

O evangelista Lucas, autor também dos Atos dos Apóstolos, sabe que a perseguição contra os cristãos chegou cedo, a começar pelas autoridades judaicas: “Prenderão vocês… os levarão para as sinagogas e cadeias”. Discípulos e discípulas de Jesus sofrem as acusações dos chefes, a traição dos familiares e o ódio de todos. Estêvão é apedrejado e morto, o primeiro mártir. O apóstolo Tiago, de Jerusalém, degolado. Constantes tribulações atormentam Pedro, Paulo, Silas e outros missionários. Jesus lhes assegura assistência divina: “Eu darei a vocês palavras e sabedoria, às quais nenhum dos adversários conseguirá resistir ou rebater”. E reforça a garantia de que “nem mesmo um só cabelo da cabeça de vocês será perdido”. Importante é que permaneçam fiéis no seguimento a Jesus e a seu Reino.

Reflecting the Gospel

Proclamação do evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas 21,5-11 – Naquele tempo, 5algumas pessoas comentavam a respeito do templo que era enfeitado com belas pedras e com ofertas votivas. Jesus disse: 6“Vós admirais estas coisas? Dias virão em que não ficará pedra sobre pedra. Tudo será destruído”. 7Mas eles perguntaram: “Mestre, quando acontecerá isso? E qual vai ser o sinal de que essas coisas estão para acontecer?” 8Jesus respondeu: “Cuidado para não serdes enganados, porque muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: ‘Sou eu!’ E ainda: ‘O tempo está próximo’. Não sigais essa gente! 9Quando ouvirdes falar de guerras e revoluções, não fiqueis apavorados. É preciso que essas coisas aconteçam primeiro, mas não será logo o fim”. 10E Jesus continuou: “Um povo se levantará contra outro povo, um país atacará outro país. 11Haverá grandes terremotos, fomes e pestes em muitos lugares; acontecerão coisas pavorosas e grandes sinais serão vistos no céu”. – Palavra da salvação.

Refletindo o Evangelho 

Jesus prediz a destruição de Jerusalém e do Templo: “Não ficará pedra sobre pedra”. Quando Lucas escreve o evangelho, por volta do ano 80, a “cidade santa” e o Templo já tinham sido destruídos. Uma curiosidade que atravessa os séculos é: quando será o fim, isto é, a vinda do Filho do Homem? Jesus não define data. Apenas procura mostrar que a história segue seu curso com guerras e revoluções, terremotos, fome, peste. São flagelos, infelizmente constantes, que marcam a vida da humanidade. Vão aparecer charlatães assustando o povo, com suas enganadoras previsões. Jesus avisa: “Cuidado para não serem enganados”. No meio desse turbilhão de tragédias naturais e notícias falsas, o evangelho nos propõe Jesus como o verdadeiro libertador, o único Mestre a quem devemos seguir e servir.

Reflecting the Gospel 

Jesus predicts the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple: "There shall not be left one stone upon another."
