🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 05/11/18 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 11/05/18

You will receive the reward in the resurrection of the righteous.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Luke 14,12-14 - At that time, Jesus was saying to the chief of the Pharisees that he had invited him: "When you give a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, rich For these could also invite you, and that would be your reward. 13On the contrary, when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind. 14Then you will be happy! Because they can not reciprocate. You will receive the reward in the resurrection of the righteous. " - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Reflecting the Gospel
Jesus' recommendations refer to the song of Mary, which says: "God exalted the humble, filled the hungry with wealth, and sent the rich away without anything" (Lk 1: 52-53). The beatitudes also remind us: "Blessed are you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God belongs to you" (Lk 6, 20ff). What Jesus proposes is also what he accomplishes: welcoming the poor, healing the sick, feeding the hungry multitude. Many followers of the Master put their teachings into practice. St. Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997) devoted herself entirely to the cause of the poorest in their field of mission. Seeing the delicacy with which she treated the sick, a journalist told her, "Mother, I would not do that for a million dollars," to which she replied, "I do not do it for a million dollars either; I do for love of Jesus. Salmo 130/131

Guardai-me, em paz, junto a vós, ó Senhor!

Psalm 130/131
Keep me in peace with you, O Lord!
Lord, my heart is not proud, nor does my eye look arrogant; / I'm not looking for greatness / nor ambitious pretensions! - R.
I have made my soul quiet and quiet; / she is in great peace within me, / as the well-nourished child, suckled / in the welcoming lap of her mother. - R.
Trust in the Lord, O Israel, from now on and for all eternity! - R.

🇧🇷 Evangelho do Dia 04/11/18 🇺🇸 Daily Gospel 11/04/18

Bem-aventurados.
Blessed.

Evangelho

Gospel
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Matthew 5,1-12 - At that time, when crowds were gathered, Jesus went up to the mountain and sat down. The disciples came to him, and Jesus began to teach them: 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are the afflicted: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. 10 Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when they revile you and persecute you and tell you all kinds of evil against you for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven. - Word of salvation.

Refletindo o Evangelho

Onde buscamos a felicidade?

Reflecting the Gospel
Like Moses, who on the mountain receives the law and gives it to the people; Jesus, seeing the multitudes of sufferers who come to him, climbs the mountain and leaves us the new law, the beatitudes, solemn beginning of the mountain sermon. The eight beatitudes are addressed to the whole multitude and not just to Jesus' disciples (the ninth is more specific to his followers). He proposes announcements of happiness. What is to be happy? Where do we seek happiness? For modern society, happy are the rich, the powerful, the good of life and those who can consume at will. Jesus, on the contrary, tells us that the poor are happy, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for justice, the merciful, the pure in heart, those who promote peace, those persecuted for justice's sake . These are instances of happiness proposed by Jesus for all mankind, not just for some specific groups. At first glance, it seems that the beatitudes call for accommodation. On the contrary, they call for "nonconformity", for the pursuit of Kingdom values (peace, justice, mercy). Nor is it a proposal for the afterlife, but for the present.

Salmo 23/24

Psalm 23/24
So is the generation of those who seek the Lord!
To the Lord belongs the earth and what it encloses, / the whole world with the beings that populate it; / for he hath made it steadfast upon the seas / and upon the waters keepeth it unshaken. - R.
"Who shall go up unto the mountain of the Lord, who shall abide in his holy habitation?" / "Who has pure hands and an innocent heart, / who does not direct his mind to crime. - R.
Upon him descend the blessing of the Lord / and the reward of his God and savior. "/" So is the generation of those who seek him / and of the God of Israel seek the face. "- R.
