🇧🇷Reflexão 27/09/19 🇺🇸Reflection

O Cristo de Deus.
The Christ of God.

Jesus asks the disciples, "Who Am I?" The question is a challenge, not simple curiosity. Peter responds as the head of all: "Thou art the Messiah of God!", that is, the anointed of God who comes to implant the age of justice and Peace (cf. Is 11.1-9). However, the disciples will have to go a long way until they understand the true identity of Jesus: He is the Messiah who will accomplish his mission as a suffering servant. The Chiefs of the people (Elders, chiefs of priests and Doctors of the law), who maintain unfair society, will kill him. He will, however, Resurrece and continue his project through his followers.

Who is this man I hear about?

By their coherent attitudes and their power to expel the forces of evil and heal diseases, Jesus in a short time captivations and drags crowds. Though he insisted not to publish his deeds, his fame soon spread everywhere and came to the ears of King Herod. The king's memories were a torment to his head. "I wanted to see Jesus," perhaps to get rid of the nightmare of his unruled life. In the passion of Jesus, Herod will do anything to pluck a word from him. It was in vain, for it was only curiosity and not desire to become a disciple.

He sent them to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

– Palavra do Senhor.

1st. Reading
Reading from the Book of Ezra 9,5-9 – 5At the time of the afternoon oblation, I, Ezra, rose from my prostration. And with the torn robes and mantle, I fell to my knees, stretched my hands to the Lord, my God. 6And he said, "My God, I am covered with shame and confusion as I raise my face to thee, for our iniquities have multiplied above our heads, and our faults have accumulated to heaven. 7From the days of our fathers to this day, a great guilt weighs upon us: because of our iniquities, we, our kings and our priests, have been delivered to the hands of the foreign kings, to the sword, to captivity, to pillage and to shame, as it happens even today . 8But now, for a brief moment, the Lord our God has bestowed us the grace to preserve among us a rest and to allow us to be fixed in his holy place. So our God gave shine to our eyes and bestowed upon us a little life in the midst of our servitude. 9 For We were slaves, but in our servitude our God did not abandon us. Before, he succeeded to us the favor of the kings of Persia, gave us a lot of life so that we could rebuild the temple of our God and restore its ruins and bestowed us a safe shelter in Judah and Jerusalem. " – Word of the Lord.

Salmo Tb 13
– Bendizei o Senhor, seus eleitos, / fazei festa e alegres louvai-o!

Salmo Tb 13
Blessed be God, who lives eternally!
– You are great, Lord, forever,/and your kingdom extends in the centuries! /Because you punish and save,/do descend to the chasms of the earth/and from there bring us again:/of your hand nothing can escape.
– You who are from Israel, give him thanks/and among the nations celebrate him! /The Lord scattered you on the earth/to narrardes His glory among the people/and to make them know, forever,/that there is no other god besides him.
– You have punished us for our sins,/Your love will have to save us./understand what you have done for us, and give thanks with all respect!
– Bless the Lord, his elect,/Make feast, and rejoice praise him!

Evangelho
Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia.

Gospel
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. I have converted you and believe in the Gospel, for the Kingdom of God is coming! (Mc 1,15) – Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 9,1-6 – At that time, 1Jesus summoned the twelve, gave them power and authority over all demons and to heal diseases 2e sent them to proclaim the Kingdom of God and heal the sick. 3E said unto them, "ye shall not carry anything for the way: neither staff nor bag, nor bread, nor money, nor even two tunics. 4In any house where you enter, stay there; And then you'll leave again. 5All Those who do not welcome you, in the outburst of that city, shake the dust of your feet as a protest against them. " 6The disciples departed and ran the villages, announcing the good news and making cures everywhere. – Word of salvation.
